Around the World in 10 Dishes: Global Recipes You Can Make at Home

Do you love food and fun? Me too.

I always dream of traveling the world. But flights are expensive, and I can’t pack a suitcase to save my life. So instead, I bring the world to my kitchen. How? By cooking dishes from different countries — right at home.

Today, I’ll show you 10 easy recipes from around the world. You don’t need fancy tools or hard-to-find ingredients. Just a little time, a little hunger, and a big spoon.

Let’s go on a food trip — no passport required!

1. Mexico: Tacos

Tacos are fun to make and eat. You can use beef, chicken, beans, or even scrambled eggs.
Warm up some small tortillas. Add your favorite fillings. Top with salsa, cheese, or sour cream. Fold and eat!

Fun tip: Tacos taste better when they’re a little messy.

2. Italy: Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce

Spaghetti is a classic! Boil the pasta. In a pan, cook garlic and onions in a little oil. Add canned tomatoes, salt, and a bit of sugar. Let it simmer.

Pour the sauce over the pasta. Add cheese if you like. Done!

Try this: Slurp your noodles for a loud Italian dinner.

3. Japan: Onigiri (Rice Balls)

These are easy snacks made from rice. Cook sticky white rice. Wet your hands, grab a scoop, and shape it into a triangle or ball.

Add a small filling like tuna with mayo or cooked salmon. Wrap with seaweed if you have it.

Warning: You might eat five without noticing.

4. India: Chana Masala (Spicy Chickpeas)

This dish is full of flavor. Cook onions, garlic, and spices in oil. Add canned chickpeas and chopped tomatoes. Let it simmer until thick.

Eat it with rice or bread. It’s healthy and filling!

Bonus: Your kitchen will smell amazing.

5. France: Crêpes

Crêpes are thin pancakes. Mix flour, eggs, milk, and a pinch of salt. Pour a little in a hot pan and swirl it around.

Fill with Nutella, fruits, or cheese. Fold it up and enjoy!

Secret: They look fancy but are super easy.

6. China: Fried Rice

Use leftover rice — it works best! In a hot pan, cook chopped veggies and eggs. Add the rice. Stir in soy sauce and mix well.

It’s quick, tasty, and perfect for using random stuff in your fridge.

Tip: Add a splash of fun by tossing the rice (carefully).

7. Greece: Greek Salad

Chop cucumber, tomato, onion, and olives. Add some feta cheese. Mix with olive oil, lemon juice, and a bit of salt.

It’s crunchy, fresh, and great with grilled meat or bread.

Why I love it: No cooking! Just chop and mix.

8. Thailand: Pad Thai

Pad Thai is sweet, salty, and a little spicy. Cook noodles. In a pan, mix garlic, egg, and cooked shrimp or tofu. Add the noodles, a bit of soy sauce, sugar, and lime juice.

Top with peanuts. Eat right away!

Note: It sounds tricky, but it’s easier than you think.

9. South Africa: Bunny Chow (Bread Bowl Curry)

This is fun and filling! Take a loaf of bread and hollow it out. Fill it with curry — any kind you like.

It’s warm, spicy, and eaten with your hands.

Yes, really: You eat the bowl. It’s bread!

10. USA: Mac and Cheese

Boil pasta. In another pan, melt butter, stir in flour, then milk. Add cheese until it melts. Mix with the pasta.

It’s creamy, cheesy, and loved by kids and grown-ups.

Cheesy joke: What do you call cheese that isn’t yours? Nacho cheese!

Final Thoughts

You don’t need a plane to taste the world. Just a stove, a spoon, and a little spirit. Try one of these dishes each week. Cook with your family, or invite a friend. Make mistakes. Have fun. And most of all — enjoy every bite.
